Dental Implants

Permanent tooth replacement to enhance your smile

What is an Implant?

Dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth. They look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. The implant is placed into the jawbone, where it acts like the root of a tooth. Once it heals, a custom-made crown is attached on top, creating a strong, natural-looking tooth.

Implants are ideal for patients who have lost one or more teeth due to injury, decay, or gum disease. They not only restore your smile but also help maintain the health of your jawbone and surrounding teeth. With proper care, dental implants can last many years—and often, a lifetime, if done by a professional. At our Newark dental office we take pride in using only quality material to ensure that you smile confidently

What is the process of an Implant?

1. Bone Graft
(If needed)

If your jawbone isn’t thick or strong enough to support an implant, a bone graft may be done first. This helps create a solid foundation for the implant and ensures long-term success.

2. Implant

Once your bone is ready, (usually after 4 months) a small titanium post (the implant) is surgically placed into the jaw. This post acts like the root of a natural tooth and will need time to heal.

3. Uncovering

After healing for roughly 2 months, we gently expose the top of the implant and place a small connector (called an abutment) to prepare for your new tooth. This step is usually quick and comfortable.

4. Crown Placement

Finally, a custom-made dental crown is attached to the abutment. It takes around 15-20 days after the uncovering. It’s shaped and color-matched to blend perfectly with your natural teeth, giving you a strong, beautiful smile that feels completely natural.
